Realizability with a local operator of A.M. Pitts
نویسنده
چکیده
We study a notion of realizability with a local operator J which was first considered by A.M. Pitts in his thesis [7]. Using the Suslin-Kleene theorem, we show that the representable functions for this realizability are exactly the hyperarithmetical (∆11) functions. We show that there is a realizability interpretation of nonstandard arithmetic, which, despite its classical character, lives in a very nonclassical universe, where the Uniformity Principle holds and König’s Lemma fails. We conjecture that the local operator gives a useful indexing of the hyperarithmetical functions.

Basic subtoposes of the effective topos
We study the lattice of local operators in Hyland’s Effective Topos. We show that this lattice is a free completion under internal sups indexed by the natural numbers object, generated by what we call basic local operators. We produce many new local operators and we employ a new concept, sight, in order to analyze these. We show that a local operator identified by A.M. Pitts in his thesis, give...
متن کاملPolymorphic Linear Logic and Topos Models
We give a deenition of a \linear bration", which is a hyperdoctrine model of polymorphic linear logic, and show how to internalise the bration, generating topos models. This gives a constructive set theoretical context for the logic of Petri nets, as recently developed by N. Mart-Oliet and J. Meseguer. Also, we sketch how this can be further extended to include the exponential operator !. In th...
متن کاملA Classical Realizability Model arising from a Stable Model of Untyped Lambda Calculus
In [SR98] it has been shown that λ-calculus with control can be interpreted in any domain D which is isomorphic to the domain of functions from D to the 2-element (Sierpiński) lattice Σ. By a theorem of A. Pitts there exists a unique subset P of D such that f ∈ P iff f(~ d) = ⊥ for all ~ d ∈ P. The domain D gives rise to a realizability structure in the sense of [Kri11] where the set of proof-l...
متن کاملTripos Theory in Retrospect
The notion of tripos (Hyland, Johnstone, and Pitts 1980; Pitts 1981) was motivated by the desire to explain in what sense Higg’s description of sheaf toposes as H-valued sets and Hyland’s realizability toposes are instances of the same construction. The construction itself can be seen as the universal solution to the problem of realizing the predicates of a first order hyperdoctrine as subobjec...
متن کاملA co-Induction Principle for Recursively Defined Domains
Pitts, A.M., A co-induction principle for recursively defined domains, This paper establishes a new property of predomains recursively defined using the cartesian product, disjoint union, partial function space and convex powerdomain constructors. We prove that the partial order on such a recursive predomain D is the greatest fixed point of a certain monotone operator associated to D. This prov...
